About Us
The Lodge of St Peter & Harmony is one of the oldest Lodges in the Province of Yorkshire, West Riding, with origins that trace back to the days of Bradford’s German textile merchants. In recent years, Yorkshire’s Goose & Gridiron has grown from a social recruiting circle into a thriving community built around a shared appreciation of craft beers and real ale.
In 2022, St Peter & Harmony and Goose & Gridiron joined forces to create Yorkshire, West Ridings Craft Beer & Real Ale Lodge—an idea inspired by the pioneering Masonic Craft Beer Society and its then proposed London Lodge. Together, we set out to offer Freemasons across the northern Provinces a place where tradition meets enthusiasm for brewing, flavour, and camaraderie.
Today, our Lodge continues to flourish as a working Lodge that maintains high standards of ritual and floor work while embracing a unique special focus of interest. Our meetings blend regular Masonic business with industry speakers, guest ales at the bar, and opportunities to learn about and enjoy craft beers and real ales along with related crafts.
We meet on the first Wednesday of March, June, July, and October, with each gathering followed by a lively Festive Board centred around fellowship and great beer. Throughout the year, we host brewery visits, tasting events, talks, and social occasions that welcome both existing Masons and prospective members who share our interests.
As we move through 2026, our journey continues to build momentum. We invite Brethren from across the North—and those discovering Freemasonry for the first time—to join us in celebrating friendship, learning, and the enjoyment of a well-crafted pint.
